Theoretical Approach & Philosophies of Counseling:

I believe that it is important to create a safe space with my clients, void of judgment and full of support. I operate from a humanistic lens, gravitating toward counseling theories such as person-centered and existential. Every person is unique, and I feel it is important to recognize this when working with clients. I believe strongly in providing counseling that is individually tailored to each client. The client is the expert of their lived experiences; my role as the counselor is to listen, be supportive, demonstrate unconditional positive regard, and help the client explore a deeper level of self-reflection related to their presenting concerns. I have experience working with clients who have struggled with topics such as substance use, concerns about their gender/sexual identity, anxiety, depression, and adjusting to major life changes. I look forward to hopefully hearing your story soon and beginning the counseling journey together!

About Me:

When I am not counseling or engaging in my responsibilities as a doctoral student, I enjoy listening to records, collecting older audio/video formats, watching films, and reading books. I am also an avid fan of going to concerts and being able to experience live music with friends and family.
