Theoretical Approach & Philosophies of Counseling:

My theoretical orientation to counseling is rooted in Person-Centered Theory. With that, I practice from a Motivational Interviewing. I often begin counseling with a new client by asking “how can I support you?” I will consider how I can best support you while viewing you as the expert on your lives and experiences. I come into the counseling relationship by unconditionally accepting everyone I work with. By using a Motivational Interviewing approach, I will help guide you toward making positive changes while focusing on your existing strengths. I have worked as a counselor in a variety of clinical settings. I have received extensive training in substance use, depression, anxiety, and life transition issues for clients of all ages.

About Me:

When I’m not working, I am often reading or rewatching The Office. I also love being physical, often going on runs, hikes, or bike rides. I attend weekly run clubs in my area, as well as board game nights with friends. I have three cats, named Oreo, Nougat, and Cookie, who may pop into virtual counseling sessions!
