Theoretical Approach & Philosophies of Counseling:

My professional belief is that we humans need and deserve a safe place to share our stories – stories of our wounds and our resiliencies.  It is my goal to provide you with an affirming, empowering place.  I come from a narrative framework, which means that I believe that telling & processing our stories are key to our healing.  I also recognize that we are embodied and that we hold some of these difficult stories in our bodies so I encourage a lot of self-love and self-care between sessions. I have worked with teens and adults in both individual and group counseling settings. My focus is narrative therapy from a trauma perspective, as well as implementing DBT strategies along the way.

About Me:

I love running & hiking in our amazing parks with my dog, but we also pause to take pictures of all the beauty & smell plenty of flowers! Indoors, I love cooking and this year I am learning to knit, which has been a rewarding but humbling process! I am always curious about people’s musical tastes and expanding my own. I sing a lot of punk very loudly in the car, it relieves a lot of stress! And I LOVE a good joke – laughter is one of my favorite things in life!
